Since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, Mao Zedong, Ho Chi Minh, Prince Norodom Sihanouk and other dignitaries have stayed at the Qingdao Guest House . 

Chairman Mao stayed here during the Summer of 1957, and convened the Politburo meetings .

Prince Norodem Sihanouk & Ho Chiminh both stayed here in the 60'sand 70's.
