The Castle Hotel is located on the grounds of the former German Governor's Mansion that was originally built in 1905. Constructed in the popular Art Nouveau style and surrounded by mountains and the sea, the Castle Hotel is a remodeled version of the Qingdao Guest House that has been used to house famous guests such as Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai and Deng Xiaoping. With beautiful gardens and majestic sea views, the Castle Hotel is one of the few remaining classical German-style hotels in China and the world.
